Froglands Farm House

Worcestershire

A new build family house, in a rural location, close to a village conservation area.

Planning restrictions lead to a low form with only the a first floor principal bedroom suite. The design makes most use of morning and afternoon sun with large terraces for social occasions. The living room benefits from a dual aspect with doors opening onto both terraces. Bedrooms look onto the private rear garden, receiving morning sun together with the kitchen, while the dining room receives evening sun.

The house is designed to be open to the surrounding landscape while employing long garden walls to create enclosure and separation from buildings either side. Local materials including blue lias stone with natural and blackened timber are to be used to harmonise the building within its location.
