D5, acting with Ove Arup and Partners, prepared a feasibility study for the complete refurbishment of a typical 1970’s office building in the center of Birmingham. The team were then commissioned to deliver the complete renovation of the existing building both internally and externally.

The project involved the refurbishment of 90,000 sq. ft. of space in a former Railtrack office to provide the building with a new lease of life enabling it to compete in the market place by providing modern serviced office accommodation.


Works comprised a new entrance and canopy, external signage, external landscaping and lighting together with 8 floors of office refurbishment and the refitting of all common areas including the public lifts, stairs and reception area. All external wall areas were cleaned and windows replaced. The works were completed in 4 phases to enable the building to remain in operation throughout the construction work.
