D5 have been asked to look again at a highly unusual site in green belt land near Lichfield. The land was a former sewage treatment plant and retains the tanks and ancillary buildings associated. Planning had previously been achieved by D5 to convert the circular treatment tanks into a three bedroom family home, nicknamed 'Infinity House' after it's unusual figure of eight design. Along with the current owner and a local planning consultant, D5 now aim to gain planning permission to convert a large rectangular treatment tank into a slightly larger home, situated further away from the stream that runs through the site.
SIP Panels Underway at Honduras Wharf
Work has commenced on site installing the Structurally Insulated Panels (SIP Panels) on Honduras Wharf. The panels, which are manufactured off site and installed by Fusion Systems Limited were delivered just on time as erection of the building progresses. The SIP panels benefit the development in numerous ways; not only does their external appearance complement the repetitive nature of the design, but also the off-site manufacture meant the contractor didn't need to find storage space for materials on an already tight site. Honduras Wharf is a £7.5million new build residential development by Elevate Property Group in the Gun Quarter, Birmingham. The development comprises one, two and three bedroom apartments and is due for completion Spring 2017
Planning Approved for Chepstow Racecourse Canine Centre
Planning has been approved by Monmouthshire County Council for a Kennel Club building at Chepstow Racecourse designed by D5 Architects LLP.
The 1000sqft building, which will be built on the site of the condemned Northern Stand, provides a headquarters facility for The Kennel Club to host shows and training but also provides space for Chepstow Racecourse to use as conferencing and function suites on race days throughout the year.
Executive Director of Chepstow Racecourse Phil Bell said: "This is a positive move as it allows for more people at the racecourse and in the area, and will provide a great facility which can be open all days of the year. Alongside the Kennel Club shows and training days, the hall will provide much needed exhibition space to the area. At more than 1,000 square feet, we believe it will be the biggest indoor space without columns in Monmouthshire."

Official Opening of Bath Racecourse Langridge Stand
Partner Ian Saunders and Architect Martin Rennie enjoyed the sunshine and hospitality at the Grand Opening of the new D5 designed Langridge Stand at Bath Racecourse today. The stand, which was constructed whilst the racecourse was operational, is home to a 300 cover executive function suite overlooking the finishing line, with an outdoor terrace for spectacular views on race day. D5 also designed the Executive Boxes at Bath, which opened prior to the first race of the season in April 2016.
Jo Hall, Executive Director of Bath Racecourse, said: "Whilst the [new] stand has been built to accommodate our racing business, there has been a real focus on delivering conferences and events, providing us with a great opportunity for us to grow non-race day business. Over the next three years we are looking to double the number of non-race day events, and with a clear focus in these key areas we believe this will be achievable."
