The refurbishment and extension of a grade 2 listed former school building bringing together education and community facilities
The project was aimed at creating a contemporary public building serving the local community providing state of the art education and training facilities.
A key feature of the design was to maximize the quality of the existing spaces whilst creating a greater degree of transparency and flexibility to reflect the activities within. Accommodation includes a library and resource area, reception, meeting rooms, function hall, cafe, conference facilities and a business centre in addition to a range of teaching rooms. The centre also includes small business starter units aimed at encouraging new enterprise.
The project was funded through Advantage West Midlands, The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and The Muath Trust.
