The project was fund through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), SRB2 and the Arts Lottery Fund and accomodates community dance and performance space, an IT editing suite, a recording studio, cafe and business enterprise facilities. The brown field site was given new use through refurbishment and extension of an existing building to create a landmark community building, to act as a catalyst for future regeneration of the area. The local community were involved in the design process through public consultations which generated a sense of ownership and respect for the building.
